The boy with NO rhythm....

Apparently can ROCK out at Dance Dance Revolution!!!!! I had to add this too cause Mom and I were in TEARS laughing at him playing this!!!! He seriously has ZERO rhythm but did WAY better than both mom and I!!!!

Weekend happenings and reconnecting...

I went home to mom and dad's this weekend, ate great food, relaxed and was able to reconnect with a lot of my friends. All in all it was a great time!!!

I sat and scanned pictures half the day Saturday, which was a great time. As I scanned pictures I wrote down ideas for layouts with the old pictures. Well I came across this picture and Mom just about died laughing and said, "oh my God it's Guitar Hero!!"


Well the night before she had taken These pictures!!!!


Too funny!!! You can BET those are going to be on an upcoming layout!!!! I still have to sort through all the pictures I scanned because I did 5-7 per page just to get them as digital files. SO that will be a loooong ongoing process because I easily scanned over a hundred pictures!!!

Here are the girls I was able to reconnect with....pardon the red eye....I had my Mom's camera and it takes too long to do red eye reduction and, frankly, that was the last thing I was thinking about while taking these last night!!!



It felt REALLY good to be at home and made me homesick all the more!! (This is something I'm struggling with A LOT lately.....)

My husband borrowed my camera for a weekend trip this weekend so I didn't do my normal photo tours of the area but believe me, I definitely want to get to the Mississippi and get pictures taken down there one of these times!!! I miss the Mississippi a lot and love all the wildlife that hangs out along it!!

Just for fun and reveals!!

I scrapped for fun the last few days and it was a blast!! I've been digging into old pictures and looking into challenges so I made some challenge projects....

This one was for a Becky Fleck sketch challenge at Noel Mignon's website and I also incorporated a challenge to use a song title and pictures from childhood from Scrapping from the inside out:

This is an extra one I did with Kit #1....I found this picture of Emma and I HAD to use it with these papers!!!!! I'm really loving how this turned out!

I've been in the mood to scrap all the little ones in the fam at weddings hammin' it up I guess cause here's one of my cousin at a wedding this spring....he was so excited to dance for the camera!!!! I made the rest of these with kit #2...
This is actually a gift card holder--it opens up and has a slot for a gift card...it was a blast to alter and actually super easy and fast!!!

This was my reveal for the first....As I went through pictures of our friend's wedding I noticed we had SEVERAL of us ladies being....um.....NOT so ladylike....so I HAD to scrap it cause that's just how we roll!!!!!

Project I did....

I am LOVING this project!!! Sara from Treasured Scrapbooking issued a challenge to make a wall hanging out of an embroidery hoop....I had issued a challenge to scrap a dream you have/had..so I decided to use Sara's challenge as an inspiration!!

We're off to go fishing so I may be adding pics to my flickr later....it's been a quiet weekend of getting scrappy projects done and just plain chilling at home with no where we HAVE to be and it's been GREAT!!! I finally found my "mojo" so to say and I have a million ideas rolling around in my head!!

I found some awesome fabric yesterday that I want to turn into a wall hanging....well, actually it's a pillow sham...we'll see how it turns out!!! I also got some fabric to cover my camera strap based on a tutorial I found over at Scrap in Style tv......BUT my husband is using my camera for a off roading truck trip in the Upper peninsula of Michigan and he mentioned that he would "prefer" if I waited to cover it.....LOL

New place I've been hanging out!

I am always on the look out for challenges that cause me to dig deeper into my own thoughts and feelings--turning my scrap pages into a journal for me to look back on to remember how I felt at different points in my life. I love the challenge blogs but I can never actually get the challenges done because they are only up for a week--which doesn't work for me with working full time.

BUT......The wonderful Lain Ehmann directed me to this site-- Scrapbooking from the Inside Out

They have a word that they focus on each month--Rachel posts inspiration all over the site about the word that is being featured. For example--this month the word is CONFIDENCE.

She also has kits for sale each month--I'm really loving this new site and can't wait to dig in to the words each month!!!

So check out this new site and give the inside out concept a shot!!!

Ok, I'm finally posting some stuff up on here!!! I haven't been doing it as much because I got a flickr account where folks can see my pictures.....so if you want to take a gander at some things I've taken pictures of lately...... go here

So now I'm going to have to start re-thinking my blog....

Figured I'd at least get something posted so I could say that I updated at bare minimum....:)
